FURTHER plans for an infill development in East Howe have been rejected.
In February, Bournemouth council planning board unanimously rejected a proposal to build an additional two-storey house fronting the road at 19 Kingswell Road, with two new bungalows in the existing gardens of 15-19 Kingswell Road. The scheme received some 80 letters of objection.
That decision is currently under appeal and being reviewed by the Planning Inspectorate.
In the meantime developer Merley Design & Construction Limited submitted a separate bid for the just the two-storey house, with what was the proposed access to the bungalows repurposed as parking.
At a board meeting, chairman Councillor David Kelsey said the proposed house was "totally out of keeping with the street scene".
"It's very noticeable that that property is very different in size to all the other properties in that road," he said.
"In my opinion this property is not good design and it is not a good use of the land that is available to it."
Members voted unanimously against the scheme.
