PEOPLE are being sought to look after a puppy in their own home for a year.

The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association is looking for volunteers in Christchurch and the surrounding areas to help prepare guide dog puppies for their working life.

Volunteer puppy walkers provide full-time care and training for a puppy aged from seven weeks until they are 12 to 14-months-old.

Puppy walkers will meet regularly with a supervisor.

The charity is also seeing my guide volunteers who will be matched with someone living with sight loss. Together, you will work towards their personal aims, build their confidence and support them to reconnect with their community, interests and hobbies.

The role would suit someone who likes to get out and about and could spare two to three hours a week.

Full training, support and supervision will be provided.

Volunteers must be 18+ and would require a DBS check.
