ORGANISERS of a giant waterslide on Richmond Hill have re-opened the attraction today after bad weather yesterday.

High winds put an end to the fun on Sunday, but Slide Bournemouth opened again today between 10am and 2pm.

In a statement posted to Facebook yesterday, the Slide team said: "Unfortunately due to increasing winds and bad weather we have decided to close the slide for the remainder of the day.

"This is not a decision we took lightly but your safety is paramount. In light of this decision we will now be opening [Monday] from 10am till 2pm and we urge anyone that has bought a ticket for [Sunday] to come and join in the fun.

"All ticket times will be valid across this period. For those unable to attend please bear with us, we will respond to all of your queries as quickly as possible but we are unfortunately dealing with a lot of disappointed sliders. We will get back to each and every one of you as quickly as possible."

Anyone with tickets who is unable to make Monday's session is asked to contact the ticket line.

The waterslide was originally going to be open all of Sunday and Monday, but organisers cancelled Monday's session due to "unforeseen logistical challenges".

However, the road closure will be in place until 11.59pm on Monday while the attraction is dismantled.
