THE official programme for this year's Bournemouth Air Festival has been officially launched.

With less than two weeks to go until the festival blasts off, the programme - sponsored by the Daily Echo - is now on sale.

Packed full of vital information about this year's eagerly-anticipated event, the programme is available from the Daily Echo reception on Richmond Hill, Bournemouth Tourist Information Centre and a host of local outlets.

Air festival director Jon Weaver said: "As always it’s a huge thank you to the team at the Daily Echo and the air festival team for putting together another great programme.

"Everyone buying a copy will be contributing to the Air Festival Armed Forces charities, the Royal Navy Royal Marines' Charity, the RAF Benevolent Fund, the RAF Association and ABF the Soldiers' Charity."

The programme also comes with a free code. Simply download the Bournemouth Air Festival app, input your unique code, and you'll have instant access to the daily flying display programme and an event site map.

You'll also be notified of any flying display updates via push notification.

This year there will be new displays from the Breitling Jet Team, Gravity Industries Jet Suit Pilots, displaying for the first time at a public event as a duo and everyone’s favourite the Red Arrows.

That’s not forgetting The Blades, Team Raven, Super Pitts Muscle Plane, Bremont Great War Display Team, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and many more.

Making the event more than just an airshow, this year’s Night Air entertainment will see three great tribute acts take to the live music stage at Pier Approach - the UK Bee Gees on Thursday, Stevie Wonderband on Friday and U2-2 on Saturday.

Dusk flying will include the Breitling Jet Team on Saturday and the Tigers Parachute Team on Friday.

Otto the helicopter and a special four aircraft display from the Fireflies and Twister Pair completes the stunning night flying.

Family fun in the Lower Gardens starts from 6pm.

The Air Festival takes place from August 30 up until September 2.

A full line up can be found in the programme, which costs £6.
