EDDIE Howe was pleased to avoid an away trip after Cherries were handed a Vitality Stadium date with MK Dons in the Carabao Cup second round.
Cherries, who have reached the quarter-finals twice in the past three seasons, are due to take on the League Two outfit in the week commencing August 27.
Boss Howe said: “It’s a nice draw for us because we’re at home.
“I think it will be a tough game. Paul Tisdale is a very good manager and it’s really good to see him doing so well.
“They play very good football so it will be a good match.
“We are pleased to be here and, hopefully, we can put on a good show for our supporters.”
MK defender Baily Cargill could face his former employers following his release in the summer.
Another ex-Cherries man, Mathieu Baudry, is also part of Tisdale’s squad.
Howe said: “It’s a nice twist to the game, to see those players. Baily was excellent for us and we wish him well in his new adventure.
“Mathieu was a bit before that but it will be great to see him as well.”
MK earned their place in the second round after defeating League One Charlton 3-0.
