FLOWERS have been left on the Wessex Way for a Bournemouth woman killed in a motorcycle crash on Tuesday morning.

As reported in the Daily Echo, the 29-year-old was seriously injured during the rush hour on the Richmond Hill sliproad eastbound.

The carriageway was closed in both directions and the air ambulance landed on the road following the collision, which happened at around 8.35am. However, despite the efforts of the emergency services, the casualty could not be saved.

Yesterday morning, bouquets of pink and white blooms had been left at the scene of the crash. Bunches of lilies and roses were among the flowers left in tribute.

A note attached to one of the bouquets read: "Trevor aka adventures with bumblebee.

"RIP. Ride with angels."

The woman, who was riding a black Yamaha motorcycle and wearing a pink helmet, is believed to have been on her way to work at the time of the crash.

Motorists and pedestrians who saw the aftermath of the collision have also spoken of their shock.

One said: "Devastating. I saw the paramedics at the scene.

"Thoughts are with her family."

Another who saw paramedics giving the woman CPR at the scene said: "I'm speechless."

Police are investigating the cause of the collision. A number of cars were travelling on either side of the motorcycle in the moments before the incident.

A Jeep and a Corsa were among the vehicles which remained at the scene while officers carried out examinations.

Police are calling for anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

Sergeant Mark Scammell, of Dorset Police's traffic unit, said he was "keen" to hear from anyone who may have captured footage of the crash.
