A NEW carpet and flooring store is set to take over an empty retail unit in Christchurch.
Tapi Carpets & Floors is due to open next week at the retail park off Barrack Road.
The unit has been empty since the closure of Maplin following the electronic goods firm's collapse earlier this year.
The new store will operate directly next to rival business Carpetright.
Tapi has one other branch in Dorset on the Wessex Gate Retail Park in Poole.
The firm was launched in 2015 by Martin Harris, whose family managed Carpetright for 75 years.
Mr Harris stepped down from his role with Carpetright after his father, Lord Harris, retired.
