A SECOND man has been arrested following a fatal crash near Bere Regis.

David Grant-Jones, 49, from Weymouth, was driving a white Land Rover Freelander when it was involved in a collision with a white BMW and a silver Mercedes on the A35 on Saturday, July 14. He died at the scene.

His wife, 59-year-old Heather, who was a front seat passenger in the car, suffered serious injuries and was flown by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital. Three male occupants of the BMW, aged 26, 27 and 39, also suffered serious injuries.

No one from the Mercedes was injured.

The crash happened on the westbound lane of the A35, just before the single carriageway becomes a dual carriageway.

A 27-year-old Surrey man has now been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving and has been released under investigation.
