ROADWORKS are set to cause disruption in Highcliffe over the next three weeks from today.

Two separate sections of Lymington Road are due to be dug up by utilities companies in the coming weeks, with temporary traffic lights in place.

Starting today, SGN are installing a new service from the far side footway to the site at 282-286 Lymington Road.

Two-way signals will be in force until Friday, August 24.

Engineers will be working in Lymington Road outside normal working hours from 7pm.

"We have agreed this to minimise disruption in the area while Wessex Water carry out repairs further along Lymington Road during normal hours", said a spokesperson for SGN.

"We expect to be working in the footway for approximately two nights and we’ll be completing the rest of our work inside the property for the remainder of the expected duration. For safety around our site, we’ll install temporary two-way traffic lights when working on Lymington Road."

From Thursday, Wessex Water engineers are due to be working to repair a defect in Lymington Road at the junction with Seaton Road.

This work is due to last until Monday, August 13, with three-way lights in use throughout.

The two sets of temporary traffic lights are either side of the permanent lights in Highcliffe at the junction with Gordon Road and Waterford Road.

There are warnings both sets of works are likely to cause delays.
