AN INVESTIGATION is under way to determine the cause of a fire at Bournemouth Airport on Monday.
Smoke could be seen for miles when a fire started on an area of open land at around 1pm.
The fire, which was under control within 15 minutes, is thought to be connected to the recent dry and hot weather.
It resulted in a flight from Krakow being diverted to Bristol Airport.
A spokesman for the airport said inquiries are continuing into the exact cause but there are no firm conclusions yet.
