RYAN Beck has revealed he is stepping down as captain of Southern Premier League outfit New Milton.
Beck, who helped the club gain its top-flight status in 2015, will take the reins for the last time when the Green & Golds visit neighbours Bashley on Saturday.
All-rounder Beck played a leading role as the Fernhill club comfortably held their own during their first two seasons in the Premier Division.
But a run of nine defeats and no victories this season has seen them crash to the foot of the table with a return to Division One a distinct possibility.
Beck will be replaced by 21-year-old fast bowler George Watts, who will continue a family tradition with father Steve and late grandfather Pete both having captained the club.
