MUSIC and dance from some of the greatest shows of all time will feature in the feel-good summer spectacular Broadway Showtunes.

The Big Little Theatre School is bringing its popular annual production to Bournemouth’s Pavilion Theatre for the 18th year.

And there’s still time to snap up a ticket to kick off the summer holiday in style.

The show features excerpts from a wide range of musicals from Barnum and Chess to Rent, Chicago and The Sound of Music.

Performances, at 7.30pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week, feature more than 150 professionally-trained students from the renowned school’s Youth Theatre companies and its Professional Development Programme.

The school has a strong reputation in the industry and this year students have secured places at top theatre schools including Arts Education Schools, Laine Theatre Arts, Italia Conti Arts Centre, the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Mountview Academy and the Performance Preparation Academy.

Youngsters between the ages of eight and 19 have been working hard throughout the year to put on the show this week. They have been trained by a range of professional choreographers and musical directors, many direct from the West End.

Each year Broadway Showtunes supports a local charity and this year it has chosen Gully’s Place, which provides suites at Poole Hospital for young patients who require end-of-life care.
