IT looks like a promotional picture for a Caribbean island.

But this shot was taken here in Dorset on one of the most glorious days of the year.

Keen photographer and well-known retired businessman Stephen Bath called in a few favours from friends to create the stunning image.

He asked fellow beach hut owners to get in their boats at the same time and the result was spectacular.

Stephen, who has a pilot's licence, has been taking aerial pictures of Christchurch for 40 years and enjoys seeing them published to share the images with fellow residents of the town.

On Saturday he secured a helicopter and a pilot to fly 2,000 ft above the town to take his latest set of pictures.

This is just one of the pictures taken and he's very proud of the outcome.

"I have been planning to take a picture like this for about 10 years. We call ourselves the Mudeford Navy because everyone who owns a beach hut also owns a boat.

"It's the same as different neighbourhoods where everyone who owns a house owns a car.

"On Saturday everything came together. The sky was completely blue and the water was so clear. There were 22 boats involved and, if the weather holds, I'd like to repeat it again with up to 50 boats in August."
