PROPOSALS to introduce £100 fines for people who breach regulations concerning dogs are set to be introduced across North Dorset.
The new measures follow backing from a public consultation.
Members will discuss the Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) at North Dorset District Council's scrutiny committee on Wednesday.
A report recommends councillors advise cabinet to introduce the new policies, with fixed penalty fees set at £100.00 to be paid within 28 days, reduced to £75.00 if paid within 14 days.
The consultation received 673 responses, 91 per cent agreed that appropriate clearing up of dog fouling throughout the district and to exclude dogs from enclosed children’s play areas should be included in the PSPO.
Plans to exclude dogs from all marked sports pitch playing surfaces or athletics tracks within the administrative area of the council was supported by 75 per cent of responses.
