A NEW filmmaker has been appointed at The Tank Museum funded by online donations from across the world.

Chloe Shipley, a film graduate from Weymouth, has been appointed on a one-year internship, to help share digital stories from the museum to a worldwide audience.

For the past year donors have been supporting the museum’s film project efforts by using Patreon.com, which allows fans of the museum’s YouTube channel to make regular financial contributions.

Museum marketing head Nik Wyness said: “We have raised an impressive $19,000 (£14,361) so far from donors across the globe and this has allowed us to fund the new position.

“The internship will allow us to increase The Tank Museum’s digital video output, whilst providing a budding filmmaker an opportunity to cut their teeth in a dynamic story-telling environment.”

The internship was open to graduates of the film production degree course at the nearby Arts University Bournemouth and, it is hoped, will become an annual appointment.

Chloe said: “To have an opportunity like this straight out of university is fantastic and I can’t wait to get started.”
