A TEENAGE boy has been arrested on suspicion of arson after a large fire in Shaftesbury last night.
Police say the fire off Allen Road yesterday caused “extensive” damage to a barn and a forklift unit.
It was reported to police at 7.20pm.
The fire service attended and extinguished the blaze.
Dorset Police said while the cause of the fire is still yet to be confirmed, they are treating the incident as suspicious.
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of arson and is assisting officers with their enquiries.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Detective Constable George Graham, of Weymouth CID, said: “I would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed any suspicious activity.”
