POOLE Harbour Festival has organised a special beach clean on Sunday
Festival organisers are calling on volunteers to meet at Baiter Park at10am to be ready to pick up litter and debris from Parkstone Bay, past the festival site and down to Poole Quay.
Event organiser Ben Dyas said: "The whole reason for staging the festival is to show our wonderful town in the best light possible. We all know how dangerous plastics and other forms of waste are for our coastal waters and shoreline so if we’re able in some small way to help keep them clean then of course we’re more than happy to."
The three-day festival is scheduled for Harbourside Park, July 27-29, offers entertainment including tribute acts and local bands .
Also on the menu is an array of artisan-produced international street foods, local produce and crafts.
Mungo Jerry will headline the Sunday night line-up with Chasing Mumford, the UK’s top Mumford & Sons tribute and Tania Alboni the leading Amy Winehouse tribute.
Local party starters Mother Ukers and the Jimmy Hillbillies star in the beer tent where the bar will be stocked with real ales and craft beers and ciders.
