DON’T put away the sun cream just yet. Temperatures are set to rise again this weekend - but there’s a risk of isolated showers today and tomorrow.
Today will see light cloud with a small chance of thunderstorms on Thursday and highs of 25C.
By Friday, the mercury will soar once again with highs of 27C predicted.
According to Twitter-based weather forecaster Dorset Sun, parts of Dorset saw just 2mm of rain during the whole month.
On Monday, 31C was recorded in Bournemouth on what was the hottest day of the year so far.
As previously reported in the Echo, Sunday night was the warmest night in Bournemouth for 15 years with an overnight minimum of 20.1C recorded. The station record was 21.4C overnight on August 10 and 11 in 2003.
The high temperatures are set to last for the next two weeks.
A ‘Level Three’ heat health warning issued by the Met Office for the South West came to an end at 9pm last night.
