A HOST of events are taking place for music lovers over the coming months. We look ahead to some of the hottest tickets in town.
1. Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls
Winchester born folk singer-songwriter Frank Turner released his seventh studio album Be More Kind last month and has more than 2,000 shows under his belt. He will be bringing his massive world tour to the BIC on Friday, February 1 after visiting the US, Canada, Europe and Australia. The Bournemouth date will see support from anthemic rockers Jimmy Eat World.
2. Snow Patrol
Northern Irish rock outfit Snow Patrol have just released their first album in seven years and will be paying the BIC a visit on Sunday, January 27, as part of their Wildness tour in support of their seventh album of the same name.
3. Jessie J
The Price Tag and Domino hitmaker is hitting the road after winning a singing competition in China earlier this year. Jessie, who won the contest with her version of Whitney Houston’s I Will always Love You, will be belting out her hits at Bournemouth’s 02 Academy on Friday, November 9.
4. Less Than Jake and Reel Big Fish
There will be skanking and pogoing aplenty when Gainesville’s biggest musical export Less Than Jake join forces with Californian outfit Reel Big Fish, best known for their hits Sell Out and Beer, for a co-headline tour that comes to Bournemouth’s 02 Academy on Friday, November 2.
5. Christine and the Queens
She had one of the biggest albums of the year in 2016 with Chaleur Humaine, but French singer Héloïse Letissier, known by her stage name Christine and the Queens, will be performing at the BIC on Saturday, November 17 in support of her as yet untitled second album which drops later this year.
6. Rudimental
BRIT and MOBO award winning drum and bass outfit Rudimental will be bringing their first headline tour in two years to the BIC on Wednesday, October 24. Rudimental came to the fore following the release of their single Feel the Love featuring John Newman in 2012.
7. Caro Emerald
Dutch songbird Caro Emerald is back with a brand new live tour for 2018. Since releasing Deleted Scenes from the Cutting Room Floor in 2010, Caro has gone on to sell millions of records and win a clutch of awards. You can catch The Shocking Miss Emerald at the BIC on Friday, October 26.
