A BRIDE-TO-BE has been forced to make changes to her big day plans after her hotel booking was cancelled with no prior warning.

Claire Pogorzelski, 29, who lives in Charminster, had booked all ten rooms at The Manor in Christchurch for her wedding in September, which is set to take place at the nearby Sopley Mill.

After being told by a friend that the ownership of the establishment had changed hands she contacted them to check her booking was still in place.

To her surprise she was told by staff that she would no longer be able to stay at The Manor.

National chain Fuller's took over the pub and hotel business on Salisbury Road from Manor Inn Properties Ltd since she made her booking 18 months ago.

Miss Pogorzelski says a staff member told her over the phone that the booking could not be maintained as they were unsure when upcoming building work would be taking place.

She told the Daily Echo that if she had not called to double check about the booking it could have caused even bigger problems closer to the wedding.

"It is a bit of headache," Miss Pogorzelski said.

"I can cope with it as we have a could of months still but if people have bookings in the next few weeks it is going to be a really big issue.

"It used to be a family run business but now it has been taken over it feels like they do not care who they let down.

"The communication is really poor and as far as they know we are still stuck with nowhere to stay."

Fortunately Miss Pogorozelski has been able to make alternative arrangements.

However, she admitted it means people are spread over various hotels and there has been an added cost frustration to booking at shorter notice.

The Daily Echo attempted to contact Fuller's for a response but did not receive a reply.
