A BEACH in Christchurch had a starring role on TV show BBC Breakfast this morning.
Popular weather presenter Carol Kirkwood delivered the forecast from Avon Beach.
The former Strictly contestant, who is known for her sunny disposition, gave a live weather forecast throughout the morning from the beach’s golden sands in front of hundreds of thousands of viewers.
John Clarke captured pictures of the friendly Scot meeting people who approached her for a photograph.
Following the broadcast, Carol tweeted: “What a beautiful morning on Avon Beach, Christchurch. Big thanks to everyone who came down to say hello. Much appreciated. It was lovely to meet each and every one of you. Have a fab day xxx”

She also posted a photo of the beach bathed in sunshine with the caption: “Avon beach in Christchurch is absolutely stunning and at the moment fairly empty.”

In 2011, Carol presented the weather in front of Bournemouth Pier and called the spot "idyllic".
