DRIVERS using mobile phones to pay at Borough of Poole car parks will need to register with a new company.

JustPark have been running the service at council-owned car parks since May 29, after the service was previously provided by Phone and Pay.

Residents and visitors can register whenever with JustPark going forward

Cllr Ian Potter, cabinet portfolio holder for transportation, said: "This is about giving drivers a bigger, better choice of options and improving their parking experience. Using their mobile phone to pay means they don't need to worry about finding the right change for the car park machine, saving them time and hassle, and making their journey that bit easier.

"As parking time can also be extended using the JustPark mobile app or by text message, shoppers and visitors don't need to race back to the car before their ticket runs out, giving them more time to enjoy the shops and other attractions in Poole."

Just Park is being rolled out to most car parks across Poole and Dorset.

Anthony Eskinazi, founder and CEO of JustPark, said: "We are delighted to be working with Borough of Poole and councils across Dorset to make parking easy and stress free for drivers, helping people to access and enjoy their towns and local areas.

"Our payment system is built to be as user-friendly as possible, offering a quick and reliable alternative to cash - giving drivers more choise and providing a positive experience.

"We look forward to introducing its benefits to residents and vistors to Dorset ."
