RESCUE cats and dogs are in need of forever homes in Dorset.

Margaret Green Animal Rescue is hoping to find loving families for seven animals in its care this week. Dinky is an 11-month-old Dogue de Bordeaux cross bulldog. He is a very big boy who’s still growing. He's looking for an adult-only home with no cats, however, he could possibly live with another dog.

Benji is a very handsome 12-year-old Yorkshire terrier. It can take him a while to get used to new people, so he's looking for a family that have had previous experience of nervous dogs. He would prefer to be the only pet in an adult-only home.

Lily, a six-year-old lurcher, is enthusiastic with a real zest for life. She enjoys cuddles and attention too. She would need to be the only dog in her new forever home and can live with teenage children, but not cats.

Flossie the cat is around two years old. She came in as a stray but is a very friendly and affectionate girl who should be okay to live with 'quiet-ish' children; however, she would prefer to be the only cat.

Mitsy is a 14 year-old feline looking for a forever home with her friend Maggie. They are very friendly cats, with Maggie being more outgoing. They could live with a friendly dog and older children but would prefer to be the only cats in the home.

Finally, Monkey, who is five years old, is a sweet lad but he really doesn't like other cats, even if he can only see them. He would like an adult only home with no other pets. He is still a little nervous but is slowly settling in.
