THREE children were threatened with an imitation firearm during an attempted robbery in North Dorset on Tuesday morning.
Police were called to a cemetery in Gillingham after the incident, which happened shortly between 8am and 8.15am.
The victims, who are aged 10 and 11, were approached by a man who pointed a 'rubber imitation firearm' at them and asked for money.
No injuries were reported.
A 52-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and possession of an offensive weapon. He is assisting officers with their enquiries.
A spokesperson from Dorset Police said: "A man is reported to have pointed a rubber imitation firearm at the children and asked for money. However, he then walked away.
"Nothing was stolen."
An imitation firearm has been recovered.
