TWO drink drivers have been banned from the roads after they were stopped as part of a Dorset Police campaign.

As reported in the Daily Echo, the force is running a summertime initiative to crack down on motoring offences. The campaign, which coincides with the World Cup, will end on July 16.

All of those charged as part of the operation will have their names made public through the media.

Holly Grace Hurlock, of Deacon Road in Bournemouth, and Abigail Ings-Williams, of Chalk Hill Farm in Tidpit, Hampshire, appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

Hurlock, 29, admitted driving a Seat in Upper Norwich Road, Bournemouth on June 2 with 62 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The limit is 35.

She was fined £175 and ordered to pay a £30 surcharge and £85 costs. In addition, the defendant was disqualified from driving for 17 months.

Ings-Williams, 29, admitted driving a Mini Cooper in Ringwood Road, Ferndown on June 2 with 101 micrograms of alcohol in breath - making her almost three times the limit.

The reading was so high magistrates made a community order. As part of the sentence, Ings-Williams will carry out 100 hours of unpaid work in 12 months.

She was also ordered to pay an £85 surcharge and £85 costs and banned from the roads for two years.
