TELEVISION equine stars featured in BBC's Poldark, Victoria and Peaky Blinders are expected to be the main attraction at the 2018 New Forest and Hampshire County Show.

The horses, trained by Atkinson Action Horses, will perform at the show that before continuing their unique tour around the UK.

Visitors will expect to see riders demonstrate acrobatics, tricks and stunts normally reserved for TV and the Big Screen including Roman Riding, Horse Rearing and Laying Down.

A short section of their performance will also be dedicated to the art of Liberty, which will display the harmony between the horses and their onscreen trainers.

Alongside the horses, popular favourites will be returning to perform such as Heavy Horse Musical Drive, Grand Parade of Livestock and Hound Parade to name a few.

For the past 20 years, Atkinson Action Horses have been training horses for film and TV and are currently sponsored by Shorefield Holidays.

The county show made its debut in 1921 and attracts tens of thousands of visitors across the three days.

New Forest Show Secretary Denis Dooley said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Atkinson Action Horses to the Show this year and I cannot wait to see their amazing display."

He explained that "significant improvements" have been made to this year's show with a particular focus being on celebrating country life.

He added: "I hope our visitors enjoy our exciting enhancements whilst finding time to watch the spectacular Atkinson Action Horses."

The show will take place from July 24-26 at New Park in Brockenhurst, with any child under 16 entering for free when accompanied by an adult or senior.

A 10 per cent discount is offered to those who buy tickets before July 17.
