A DECISION on plans for a new 'gastro pub' at Bournemouth's Hilton Hotel has been delayed.

Hotel owners THAT Group are seeking permission to create a ground floor bar called 'Room 173 and Pergola', serving alcohol between 11am and 2am.

Bournemouth council licensing officers say the proposed site of the bar within the hotel has in fact already been in use as 'That Street Bar' since September 2016, requiring a licence alteration as it originally had a café use.

Dorset Police and council pollution control have made representations against the plan.

However, at a licensing board meeting last week where the issue was to be decided LSL Solicitors, representing the hotel, said new statistical evidence had been presented by Dorset Police on the morning of the hearing, giving them insufficient time to consider it.

The board councillors agreed to adjourn the hearing until June 21 to allow the evidence to be examined.
