FATHER’S Day is nearly here. The annual celebration of fatherhood which takes place this year on Sunday, June 17, dates back to the middle ages.
Here are five special events to celebrate dads in Dorset and the New Forest...
1. Ringwood Brewery is offering a free pint for dads at its beer festival this Saturday. Doors from 1pm to 6pm featuring 16 different beers including the brewery’s anniversary ale, Seventy Eight. There will also be free mini brewery tours, shire horses, music and family games.
2. RockReef’s PierZip is offering free zip wire rides to dads on Sunday. The attraction which opened in 2014 at Bournemouth Pier, features a 250 metre dual zip wire. 3. Yellow Buses is celebrating the World Cup by introducing a Footie Hopper ticket for the duration of the tournament.
From the start of the World Cup on Thursday, June 14 until the final game on Sunday July 15, customers travelling after 5pm can buy a £2.50 ticket giving unrestricted access to the Yellow Bus network.
4. Fathers are being offered free entry to Farmer Palmer’s Farm Park at Organford on Sunday. Download the voucher at website farmerpalmers.co.uk
5. Dads can get 50 per cent off entry to Monkey World, the ape rescue centre near Wareham on Father’s Day. Download a voucher from the website monkeyworld.org and present it at the gate.
6. Picnic Park Deli in Bournemouth's Westover Gardens is giving dads a free hot drink when you buy one yourself.
