THE Ocean Brothers will cut the ribbon on the fourth annual Poole Harbour Boat Show in association with Sunseeker.

The two brothers from Lymington have just completed a 3,000-mile unsupported row across the Atlantic and spent 53 days at sea, raising in excess of £90,000 for the British Skin Foundation.

The money will fund vital skin cancer research in memory of their father and step-father, Peter Massey.

Organised by Poole Harbour Commissioners, the Poole Harbour Boat Show which is being held in association with Sunseeker, will take place on Poole Quay and the award-winning Poole Quay Boat Haven.

The events will run from Friday June 8 to June 10 and will feature a range of yachts and motor cruisers, dinghies and paddle boards, tall and war ships, on-water demonstrations, fireworks and live music.

Setting a Guinness world record in the process, Jude, the younger of the two Oceans Brothers has been certified as the youngest person to have rowed any ocean in a team of two. The brothers are also believed to be the first people to complete the crossing on a vegan diet.

Since returning to the UK last month, the brothers have been busy sharing the fascinating story behind their grueling 53-day challenge to cross the second largest ocean in the world whilst enduring bad weather, equipment failure and injuries.

A statement said: “We were in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean when we were asked to open this year’s Poole Harbour Boat Show in association with Sunseeker.

"After such an eventful journey it was a great boost to our morale and we were delighted to accept. We are looking forward to visiting the show, meeting the visitors and sharing our story with them.”

The brothers are set to officially open the event on Friday June 8, following a VIP lunch reception sponsored by law firm, Lester Aldridge. They will then be making an appearance on the Quay front to meet and share stories from their courageous adventure with the show’s visitors.

Visitors will be able to enjoy a spectacular firework display at dusk, sponsored by Sibbett Gregory, which will start a full weekend of activity and family entertainment.

The show is free to attend and will open daily from 10am-6pm. For further details visit: pooleharbourboatshow.co.uk.
