AFTER refusing four previous iterations of a proposed development, Bournemouth council planners have now backed a four-home scheme in Westbourne.

The first application was submitted in 2014 for six houses in Nelson Road before scaled-back revised proposals were put forward in the same year, in 2016 and in 2017.

All were refused and a new scheme was lodged with the council earlier this year.

It seeks permission to build four homes on land set back from the road along with seven parking spaces.

The application was called in for discussion by Cllr Andrew Morgan who said that neighbours to the site “have been troubled and inconvenienced again by these seemingly endless attempts to carry out such an intensive redevelopment”.

Despite his concerns, and objections from people living close by, members of Bournemouth council’s Planning Board agreed on Monday to grant permission for the development, following the recommendation of planning officers.
