CONTROVERSIAL works to deliver improved internet speeds in New Milton and Highcliffe have been completed.

Virgin Media has announced the ultrafast broadband and entertainment boost is now available to up to 2,400 homes and businesses on both sides of the Hampshire/Dorset border.

Residents can now access speeds of up to 350Mbps, up from the average (median) download speed of just 23.5Mbps.

Cormac Connolly, Virgin Media regional director, said: “We are delighted that local residents and businesses across New Milton and Highcliffe can now start to benefit from the boost our ultrafast broadband will give them. Giving them greater speeds will enable them to do the things they need to do and love doing more quickly and more easily.”
