POLICE have issued a CCTV appeal following the theft of a mobile phone from a shop in Swanage.
They hope someone will recognise the man pictured and will contact them with information.
At around 1.10pm on Monday May 7 a woman was buying some items at the till of WH Smith on Institute Road when she placed her black Samsung Galaxy J3 6 mobile phone on top of the chewing gum counter. She then left the store, forgetting to collect her phone.
The victim, a local woman aged in her 40s, soon realised she had left her phone and returned to the shop but the phone had gone. Staff at the store checked the CCTV footage, which shows a man taking the phone.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police on 101 or the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
