HAMWORTHY Recreation were forced to keep the champagne on ice after being held to a 2-2 draw by Dorset Premier League rivals Holt United last night.

Victory for Rec at the County Ground would have seen them secure the title, only for last season's champions to level late on through an own goal.

Sonny Wilkinson's first-half opener for the Bulls was soon cancelled out by Brad Hill's rasping effort.

Alistair Garard's 58th-minute goal put Rec ahead before Holt spoiled the party by equalising nine minutes from time.

Rec will be hoping to finish off the job when they visit 13th-placed Bridport reserves in their final game of the season on Saturday.

They are two points ahead of Westland Sports who travel to ninth-placed Balti Sports.

Goals from Henry Lawrence-Napier and Sam Plumley saw Westlands beat Rec in the final of the Dorset Premier League Cup.
