CHILD protection campaigners say paedophile Dean Randall committed "monstrous" offences against his young victim.

As reported in the Daily Echo, the defendant was jailed for 14 years last week for the sexual abuse of the child. Details of Randall's offending can't be revealed as the victim could be identified.

However, a judge at Bournemouth Crown Court said the child was abused in the "grossest fashion imaginable".

A spokesperson for the NSPCC said: “The scale of Randall’s depravity is deeply disturbing and it is right that he has faced justice for his despicable offending.

“No child should ever be put through the horrific abuse that Randall inflicted on his victim.

“We hope the young boy will be given all the necessary support he needs to rebuild his life and recover from the monstrous abuse inflicted upon him."

Randall, 39 and of Prince of Wales Road in Bournemouth, admitted five counts of making an indecent image of a child and two of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

Judge Stephen Climie said he was forced to sentence outside of the government's guidelines due to the gravity of the case.

"It is beyond comprehension," he said.

"In my judgement, this falls into a unique category."

Randall will also be subject to the requirements of a sexual harm prevention order and the sex offenders' register for life.
