A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman was stabbed at a hotel in Bournemouth this afternoon.
Police and ambulance were called to the incident at the Hallmark Hotel Bournemouth Carlton on East Cliff at 1.16pm.
The air ambulance landed in the area, and the woman has been airlifted to hospital.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said: "Dorset Police received a report of an assault at the Hallmark Hotel on Overcliff Drive in Bournemouth in which a woman sustained stab wounds to the abdomen.
"She was taken to Southampton Hospital with serious, but not believed to be life-threatening, injuries.
"A 19-year-old man from Hounslow has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is helping officers with their enquiries."
Five police cars are stationed outside the hotel. Several ambulance vehicles were also at the scene but have now left.
Forensics officers have arrived and have been seen going into the hotel.
