HEAVYWEIGHT Champion of the World Anthony ‘AJ’ Joshua appeared live on stage at Poole’s Lighthouse on Saturday night.

After attending the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the superstar boxing champion flew into town in a private helicopter to host ‘Life Experiences With’ to a sold out audience.

The evening, which was organised by Bournemouth businessman Ty Temel, kicked off with a charity auction in aid of mental health charity Dorset Mind.

Joshua was then welcomed to the stage by Sky Sports boxing pundit Johnny Nelson. Joshua talked about the highlights of his career and his rise to fame before a Q&A session with the audience.

Fans were keen to hear about his fight against Vladimir Kiltschko last year.

Speaking to the Echo at the event, he said it was important to bring respect “not only to boxing but to sportsmen in Britain”.

“No matter how far I take my boxing it’s important to me that I always connect with the people,” he said.
