BOROUGH of Poole made an estimated £87,000 from hosting events on its parks and beaches in 2017.
Across the 12-month period, the council allowed 43 events – from fairs and picnic to large festivals- to take place on its land.
The figure represents a fall from 2016 when 51 events took place.
Fees for using the council’s land are determined by the scale of the event with the largest being charged a minimum of £4,740 as an event fee plus a daily site hire charge of either £190 for its less prominent areas or £315 for its “premier” sites.
Not-for-profit activities are charged a smaller fee by the council while "business as usual" events which include Remembrance Day parades and school activities are free.
