THE first images of the redeveloped Mr Kyps site have been released.

Details of the development set to replace Poole's popular live music venue first featured in the Echo last month, but now we can reveal the latest artist's impressions of the proposals.

Bayview Development's boss Bill Buckler wants to restore the buildings at the Parr Street site, transforming them into 'loft-style' homes.

Mr Kyps, which has been a focal point for live music fans for years, is set to host its final gig in June.

However, Mr Buckler, who has bought into Ashley Cross pub The Bermuda Triangle, says live music will feature at the BT every week - ensuring Kyps' legacy for music lives on in Parr Street.

Mr Kyps is also looking to host future events at the Hamworthy Club, Canford Magna, which is a larger venue than the Parr Street nightspot.

Speaking in April, Mr Buckler explained: "We wish Kyp all the very best for his next chapter, just as we begin a new chapter with the old school buildings.

"This is a great opportunity to give Parr Street some much needed TLC and bring the buildings back to their original splendour.

"Our proposals are still at the planning stage, and there is much consultation still to do, but we hope that refurbishment work will start this summer and we are confident that our ideas will enhance this important conservation area around St Peter’s Church."

Mr Kyps, which was established 17 years ago by Mark 'Kyp' Kyprianou, has hosted some big names from the UK live music scene.

Artists and bands including Pete Doherty ,Adam Ant, The Buzzcocks - and local favourite Mungo Jerry - have all appeared there on stage.

Last summer Bayview Developments bought the site - which has become dogged by structural and maintenance problems in recent years - and decided to close it, making way for the new development.
