A WOMAN was pulled from the River Stour in the early hours of this morning after reports she was in distress.
Emergency services were alerted just before 3am and told a person was in the river near Iford Bridge in Bournemouth.
Police, along with fire crews from Christchurch and Springbourne and a water rescue team from Poole, attended the scene. Ambulance, coastguard crews and the RNLI were also in attendance.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said this morning that the woman, in her 40s and from Christchurch, was rescued and was taken to hospital to be checked over.
