A SCHOOLGIRL has stunned her teachers by recording 100 per cent attendance every year for more than 10 years.

Chloe Yong has achieved the difficult target since she was in Year 1 and she is now a Year 11 student about to take her GCSEs.

The only disruption to her schooling was in her reception year when she suffered from chicken pox but since then she has been at her desk every day.

Chloe, 15, attends St Edward's School in Poole where attendance officer Lucy Mitchell said she is stunned by her achievement.

"I have been doing this job for five years and I have never seen anyone with 100 per cent attendance all the way through the school" she said.

"We are extremely proud of Chloe and we're sure she will do well in whatever she chooses to do."

Chloe's dad, Ming, said he, her mum Natalie and brother Christopher are proud of her achievement.

"It has become a bit of a joke with her brother because whenever Chloe is ill it is in the school holidays" he said.

"Chloe has always worked hard and I'm sure she will continue to do so."

Chloe added: "I think I am just lucky because I am always well when I need to go to - I only get sick in the holidays."

After sitting her GCSE exams Chloe plans to go to Bournemouth and Poole College to study fashion design before possibly going to university.

She added: "I enjoy going to school and I'm looking forward to college."
