A woman was taken to safety after an incident near the Dolphin Shopping Centre in Poole yesterday.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said the woman was taken to a place of safety and given appropriate care.
It came after roads around Poole town centre were closed following the concern for welfare.
The A350 Towngate Bridge was closed both ways for around six hours, leading to traffic queues on Holes Bay Road southbound.
Traffic is also reportedly queuing on Wimborne Road, Fernside Road, Parkstone Road, Kingland Road, Newfoundland Drive and Lagland Street.
