MORE than 200 youngsters ‘toddled’ their way round a track in Poole Park to raise money for four charities.

The Toddlethon event was organised by Poole Bay Rotary. Poole’s town crier, David Squire, and club president Roger Allen led the preschool children around the cycle track surrounding the cricket pitch.

After the event, the children enjoyed refreshments, entertainment by Vicki Eldon from Shining Stars Holiday Club, and a ride on Poole’s land train.

Alun Williams said the club hoped to have raised over £4,000 for Dorset Mind, Home-Start, Life Education Wessex, and End Polio Now.

“We’ve raised over £64,000 over the last 16 years. The event was inspired by one of our Rotarians, Gillian Finch, who runs a pre-school.

“It was a really nice day and the weather was perfect.”
