A COUNCILLOR has lodged an appeal after being refused permission to extend her home.
Lymington Town ward councillor Anna Rostand is challenging a decision taken by the New Forest National Park Authority (NPA), which narrowly rejected an application relating to a property in East Boldre.
Cllr Rostand, a former mayor of Lymington, had sought consent to replace a single-storey extension with a two-storey building.
But her proposal was defeated by six votes to five after a neighbour claimed the scheme could breach national park planning rules.
Now Cllr Rostand is hoping a planning inspector will quash the NPA’s decision.
Outlining the grounds of the appeal, planning consultant Deborah Slade said the design of the proposed development was in keeping.
The existing extension would be removed, which means there would be “no cumulative addition”.
