BOURNEMOUTH council has installed six public-use defibrillators at locations across the town.
The devices are in place in Dalling Road, Lansdowne Road, Southcote Road and Wallisdown Heights, and at the Bournemouth Learning Centre in Ensbury Avenue and Kinson Hub in Wimborne Road.
A report to the borough's audit and governance committee states: "Whilst it is not practical to cover every site, the council’s estate now has comprehensive defibrillator coverage as the six new devices supplement those already installed at the town hall, town hall annexe and the visitor centre at
Hengistbury Head.
"These devices provide life saving first aid for members of staff, visitors, contractors or members of the public.
"Devices are easy to use and can be used by anyone .
"The use of defibrillators is now covered in all first aid at work and refresher training courses."
The council has also given specific defibrillator training to first aiders among its staff at the town hall and annexe.
