A SEVEN-year-old girl’s fundraising idea truly rocked.
Freya Felisi raised more than £60 by selling stones she had taken home and painted.
She set up a stall in Bournemouth Square with dad Tony to sell them in aid of a cancer charity, as a show of support for her grandad Fru.
Tony, from Talbot Woods, said: “We sold about 60-70 and made £60.64 in an hour.
“That money was going to help Cancer Research because her grandad has prostate cancer.
“She collected the rocks off the beach by hand, painted them and varnished them and sold them. They were 50p each but people were giving a pound or making donations and not taking the rock.”
He said Freya, who goes to St Mark’s School in Talbot Village, would probably repeat the exercise.
“It was a good, entrepreneurial thing for someone that age to want to do,” he said.
“It was a good experience for her.
“We’ve got to go and collect some more rocks. We’ll probably do it again at some point in the future.”
