A POPULAR gin festival returns to Bournemouth next month - but this time it will be held at a new venue.

Gin Festival is the UK’s first and biggest touring gin festival.

It will be making its third annual visit to Bournemouth on May 4 and 5, however this year it will be held at the BIC instead of the Pavilion.

The event will see tipples from small craft distilleries using locally-foraged botanicals to exotic contemporary and flavoured gins.

Naomi Good, event director at GinFestival.com, said: “After previously holding sold out festivals at Bournemouth Pavilion for the last few years, we thought it's time we upped our game (and our capacity) so more gin lovers of Bournemouth get the opportunity to come along and enjoy the gin.

“Only a stone’s throw from our original venue, Bournemouth International Centre seemed like a great step-up for our festival, allowing us further space for a few exciting extras including more bars and brands.'”

Visitors will receive their own Copa glass on arrival and a booklet to guide them through the festival. The booklet will contain tasting notes as well as garnish and tonic recommendations.

Brands booked so far include Brockmans, Conker Gin and PJ Gin.

The event is strictly for over 18s only. For tickets visit ginfestival.com.
