TWO military helicopters were spotted over Christchurch last night.
Residents reported hearing the helicopters at around 9pm.
The National Police Air Service (NPAS), who are based at Bournemouth Airport, said the helicopters were Wildcats.
They are used by the Royal Navy and the British Army.
The helicopters were also heard over Bournemouth.
One person said they believed at one stage the helicopters landed in the Littledown area.
Looked like Navy helicopters landed at either Littledown park or JP Morgan took off again soon afterwards, but were buzzing around for a long time.

It is not known why the helicopters were in the area.
A spokesperson for the MoD: "We are not aware of anything out of the ordinary."
