WESTBOURNE Book Binge gets under way tomorrow, with a host of author talks and film shows.

Among the well-known writers appearing are Dave Wardell, the police dog handler whose book Fabulous Finn tells how the brave dog fought his way back from a near-fatal stabbing.

Also tomorrow, Times journalist Rick Broadbent will talk about the real life stories of some of our greatest sports men and women.

David Quantick will be speaking on Saturday about how he came to write a horror novel after 30 years of writing comedy and about music.

Also on Saturday, local historian and author Andrew Emery will lead a guided walk through Alum Chine in the footsteps of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde to the home of author Robert Louis Stevenson.

Dorset author Rosanna Ley will be in conversation of a super-fan of her books at Westbourne Library. Meanwhile, Andrew Lownie will talk about Guy Burgess, the man at the heart of the Cambridge Spy Ring.

The UK’s smallest cinema, The Colosseum, will be showing 10 films based on famous books throughout the festival, which finishes on Sunday.
