FILM and Media students from Brockenhurst College mingled with the A-listers when they spent a week in Los Angeles.

They had travelled to the USA to experience the glitz of the entertainment industry at first hand.

But they had no idea they would bump into megastars including actor Matt Damon and Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin on their travels.

During their visit the group were taken on VIP tours of historic studios belonging to the likes of Warner Bros and Universal Studios.

They also explored locations used in blockbuster films including La La Land, Transformers and School of Rock.

While in LA, the students and staff bumped into some big stars such as actor Jeff Daniel Phillips, Pancho Moler, and Chris Martin.

But the highlight for many was a chat with actor Matt Damon after he sat down beside them in a breakfast bar.

The Oscar and Golden Globe-winning star even found the time to have pictures taken with the astonished students.

Another highlight of the trip was visiting the Oscars where they caught a glimpse of celebrities walking down the red carpet ahead of the 90th Academy Awards ceremony.

This is the seventh year the college has run the trip, having successfully taken more than 250 students to LA to supplement their A Level studies.

Media Lecturer Mike Latto said: "I’ve taken students to LA many times now, but it still never ceases to amaze me – it really is the trip of a lifetime."
