A KINSON eatery has won its bid to continue operating after its temporary permission expired.

Grill Shack had a two year temporary permission to use the premises at 1472 Wimborne Road, which had a retail use class.

However, Bournemouth council planning officers have determined that a permanent switch to an A3/A5 restaurant/takeaway use is justified.

A report by planning officer Joscelyn Holbrook states: "Environmental Health have been consulted on this application and raise no objections to the use or the opening times which are until 11pm.

"Since the use has operated under temporary permitted development for two years there have been no noise complaints or concerns.

"It is therefore considered that a permanent change of use is acceptable and would not cause a harmful impact on immediate residents."

The report also notes that there is "still a good proportion" of retail units in the Kinson shopping area. Council policy typically presumes against the loss of retail units.
